The announcement of the additional 2,000 offices follows on from the success of the Loyds TSB service which has been available at post offices in England and Wales since April 1999.
Post Office Network Banking managing director, Basil Larkins said: "The post office network is continuing to expand the banking services it offers nationwide. This extension of the Lloyds TSB service is a further example of our growing presence in the market place and our new and building relationships with banking partners.
"Post offices are ideally placed to deliver a range of services, including banking, to communities across the country. More than nine out of ten people live within a mile of a post office."
